Creativity

Creativity is the ability or ability of the human being to invent or create things, which can be physical objects, ideas, representations or simply fantasies. It is about the possibility of generating the new: new concepts, new ideas or associations between them, which usually leads to new solutions to problems.
Creativity is an indispensable element of every human being; thanks to society, individuals and organizations have evolved and developed.

School kills creativity?

During class we analyzed a TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson. He claims that "school kills creativity" as educational systems around the world focus on students learning to follow specific orders and tasks on a repetitive basis. These repetitive tasks do not lead to new thoughts and ideas.
Robinson argues that schools are only teaching education and not creativity which is what the educational system should focus on. All children are born talented, have creativity and are not afraid of making mistakes. Now, when a child is told that he is doing something wrong, what happens in the first place is that he no longer wants to make another mistake, he stops trying new things and that is where people lose creativity. Robinson believes that this, making mistakes, is the only way to develop new ideas.
Creativity is a dynamic process, it is a living and changing force of the human being; In other words, it is the engine of personal development and has been the basis for the progress of every culture.

The three components of creativity

expertise

Every creative act starts from a knowledge base. This knowledge base is known as expertise. The expertise is a specialized knowledge product of the preparation and experience in a specific field. Expertise is the foundation of all creative work and can be seen as the set of cognitive routes that must be followed to solve a given problem or task.

Creative thinking skills

Unfortunately, possessing a great deal of knowledge is not a sufficient condition for being creative. People also need to process information in ways that are productive for them.
Notably, creative thinking depends to some extent on personality characteristics related to independence, self-discipline, risk orientation, perseverance in the face of frustration, and a relative lack of concern for social approval. And that's why creative people develop complex personalities.

Motivation

Motivation is one of the most important components of creativity. People rarely do truly creative work in an area unless they really love what they do and focus on their work more than the potential rewards. However, motivation is not inherent to the person: one has to decide to be motivated by one thing or another.
Likewise, motivation is important to overcome obstacles that arise when confronting others. In this sense, motivation is the fuel that puts a person to work and allows him to overcome difficulties. According to the author, there are two types of motivation: motivation can be intrinsic (motivated by the deepest interest and involvement with work, curiosity, enjoyment, and a personal sense of challenge), or extrinsic (motivated by the desire to Earning a goal that is unrelated to the job itself, such as earning a reward, meeting a deadline, or winning a competition.
